In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for insurance-related matters, ensuring smooth communication between patients, insurance providers, and our clinical staff. Your expertise will help streamline insurance verification, claims processing, and authorization procedures, ultimately enhancing patient experience and practice efficiency. The ideal candidate is energetic, highly organized, and possesses a strong understanding of dental and health insurance policies, medical coding, and electronic health records management. Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments using electronic systems and direct communication with insurance companies Obtain insurance prior authorizations for various dental procedures to ensure timely treatment approval Accurately code dental procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 classifications Manage medical records and electronic health records (EHR) with precision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) confidentiality policies Process claims efficiently by submitting billing information through medical office software while adhering to insurance policies and managed care guidelines Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly to facilitate quick resolution and reimbursement Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding insurance benefits, coverage limits, and billing concerns with clarity and professionalism Skills Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care processes, and medical billing practices Proficiency in medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (Opendental, Carestack) and EMR/EHR management tools Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient data confidentiality and security Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks such as verification, authorization requests, claims processing, and record keeping Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance providers and educating patients about their coverage options Ability to navigate Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and correspondence purposes Join us in delivering outstanding dental care by ensuring seamless insurance processes that support our patients' needs.
