In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing insurance verification, prior authorization processes, and medical records with precision and professionalism. Your expertise will ensure smooth administrative operations, facilitate accurate billing and coding, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a patient-centered environment while utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and electronic health records management. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing check-in and check-out procedures. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance prior authorization requests, and confirm patient eligibility using EMR/EHR systems. Collect and process medical records, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to ensure accurate claim submission. Collaborate with managed care organizations to facilitate claims processing and resolve insurance-related issues promptly. Maintain organized documentation of medical records, insurance information, and billing data in electronic health record systems. Support office operations by managing appointment scheduling, answering phone inquiries, and coordinating communication between clinical staff and patients. Skills Strong knowledge of dental insurance policies, managed care processes, and insurance verification procedures. Proficiency in HIPAA compliance standards and clinical confidentiality policies. Experience with Patterson/Eaglesoft Dental or similar EMR/EHR systems for electronic health records management. Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, medical billing, and medical records management. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in a fast-paced environment. Competence in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and correspondence purposes. Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred; familiarity with office operations enhances efficiency.
