Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Informatics Specialist will oversee and assist with the Uniform Data System (UDS) management and reporting, ensure compliance with HRSA data reporting requirements, and management reporting requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in informatics, clinical education, clinical workflow optimization, and performance improvement initiatives.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES UDS
Management and Oversight:
Ensure compliance with Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting as required by Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. Oversee the collection, validation, and submission of timely, accurate, and complete UDS reports per HRSA guidelines. Develop and maintain data collection systems for tracking HRSA-approved project scope information. Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to ensure accurate data capture for reporting. Train staff on data entry, validation, and reporting procedures to improve compliance and efficiency.
Informatics & Data Integration:
Optimize the use of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to support clinical workflows and data-driven decision-making. Maintain and update organizational manuals to reflect workflow changes, compliance standards, and new reporting requirements. Implement best practices for health IT systems, data analytics, and reporting accuracy. Analyze patient care data to identify trends, support quality improvement initiatives, and enhance patient outcomes. Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, quality measures, and clinical informatics best practices. Supported data-driven decision-making through dashboard creation, report optimization, and visual analytics tools. Maintaining and submitting scheduled reports.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Strong data management, validation, and reporting skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHRs) and health IT systems. Ability to train and mentor staff effectively. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across clinical, IT, and administrative teams.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education & Certification:
Associate's degree or related Experience equivalence in: Health Informatics, Public Health, or a related field. Certified Professional in Health Informatics (CPHI), or related credential (preferred).
Experience:
Prior experience in staff training, and quality improvement preferred. Strong background in HRSA compliance, UDS reporting, and data analysis preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems, data reporting tools, and clinical informatics applications preferred. Physical/Environmental Normal accessibility and mobility throughout the region required. Normal overtime/extended work hours. Additional Requirements All other duties as assigned
