Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Intake Specialist to join our dynamic outpatient and behavioral health treatment team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and providers, ensuring a smooth and efficient intake process. Your energetic approach will help facilitate accurate data collection, verify insurance information, and coordinate necessary documentation to support seamless patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment while utilizing your interpersonal communication skills, office experience and strong organizational skills. Responsibilities Greet patients and providers warmly, establishing a positive first impression and guiding them through the intake process Collect, review, and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and demographic data Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of all medical records and sensitive information Conduct insurance verification procedures, confirming coverage and benefits with managed care providers Accurately document patient encounters using medical terminology, EHR / EMR Collect and organize client records for provider review or referral purposes Collaborate with office staff to schedule appointments, update patient files, and facilitate communication between departments Experience Prior experience working in a substance use disorder treatment or behavioral health office setting is highly preferred Strong knowledge of managed care processes and insurance verification procedures Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and electronic health record systems Experience handling medical records with attention to accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced office environment Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude that fosters trust and rapport with patients and team members Join us in making a difference by ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care from the moment they call and walk through our doors. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
