Summary:

The Lab Manager will be responsible in the day-to-day operations of the entire Laboratory which includes all personnel activities, technical oversight, general workflow, and budget. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Demonstrates sound decision-making skills involving complex laboratory tests and interpretation. Maintains the laboratory and procedures according to all State, Federal and accreditation agencies regulatory guidelines. Participates in the evaluation, introduction and validation of new instruments, tests, procedures, and system software. Duties and Responsibilities.  Provides leadership to organization including day to day operations, strategic planning, and ongoing continuous improvement.  Assesses all day-to-day activities to ensure continuous quality improvement, workflow efficiency, process improvement, and budgetary compliance.  Ensures, implement, and supports compliance with all departmental and company policies and procedures including but not limited to Quality and Safety  Maintains accountability in delivering to client needs/timelines and business financial objeHives.  Routinely communicates business forecast, project updates to internal and external clients.  Collects and reports key performance metrics and implement corrective actions if metrics are not met.  Conducts management responsibilities with efficiency, respect, and empathy, in accordance with human resource policies and applicable laws.  Maintains adequate staffing and performs scheduling, planning, and monitoring of workflow based on patient load to meet established goals.  Identify training needs and ensures all training is performed as required  Ensures that physical and environmental conditions of the laboratory are adequate and appropriate for the testing performed; the environment for employees is safe from physical, chemical, and biological hazards and safety and biohazard requirements are followed.  Manages site permits according to regulatory requirements and serves as main point of contact for incident management, reporting of injuries and point of contact for all licensing agencies.

Educational Requirements:

o Qualified as a Director for high complexity testing, OR o Qualified as a Technical Supervisor for high complexity testing, OR o Master's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science and 1-year training and experience in high-complexity testing; OR o Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science and 1-year training and experience in high-complexity testing; OR o Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years laboratory experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Qualifications:

o Familiarity with CLIA and CAP regulatory requirements. o Must have Phlebotomy experience. o Adheres to laboratory safety practices, including but not limited to OSHA blood-borne pathogens, HIPAA, and hazardous chemicals training and monitoring. o Ability to make independent decisions regarding matters of significance Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking abilities o Identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions, and practices so that they may be corrected prior to an incident. o Understanding of techniques, instrumentation, and underlying principles. Excellent verbal & written communication skills o Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization o Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community

Pay:

$33.00 - $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
