LABORATORY MANAGER

at our Tallahassee, FL location to oversee the daily laboratory operation and lab staff duties who is career minded and team oriented. This is a full-time position with benefits including Paid-Time-Off (PTO), 1 Floating Holiday, 401(k) Retirement Plan with up to 4% company match, Health Insurance (medical, dental and vision paid 60% by AEL); Short and Long-term disability and Life term insurances paid 100% by AEL. Schedule:

M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; evenings and weekends might be required

Pay Range:

$65,000 - $80,000 (please note this is a range, and final salary will be based on factors including relevant experience, skills, and qualifications)

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

BS in Chemistry or equivalent Previous Staff Management skills and

Sales Experience:

5 or more years in analytical environmental laboratory ; excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; leadership skills, emotional intelligence Basic Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Excellent writing and oral communication skills Ethical, fair, transparent, dependable Ability to supervise and mentor in a multi-cultural environment Must possess strong managerial experience and interpersonal skills, as well as technical knowledge of laboratory operations Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with employees and outside consultants, executive management, and colleagues Thorough understanding of quality, safety and training issues Working knowledge of operational metrics and company business objectives

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily laboratory operation and staff mentoring and management Responsible for ensuring compliance with the TNI (NELAC) standards Adhere budget keeping expenses under budget including meeting/exceeding sales goals, profit/loss and long range planning Acts as local HR for interviewing/hiring/release of lab personnel and ensuring all associated paperwork is completed Track and submit timesheets and payroll for all staff at the lab location Review test results to ensure quality control Complete MDLs and DOCs and assure complete throughout lab as required Understand instrument operation and theory of all instrumentation in lab Perform occasional repairs and maintenance of instruments and laboratory Schedule the training of new analysts Interface with sales and project managers to schedule projects Supervision of department managers and client service manager duties Establish and maintain effective communication with staff Place purchase orders for approval with the operations manager Login corrections when required in Horizon LIMS Assist with duties to manage Health and Safety and/or Hazardous Waste program Aid project management and sales in developing new clients, growing current clients
