Job Description

Blood Bank Supervisor in
Idaho Position Overview:
As an IRL Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the reference laboratory, supervise staff performing basic and advanced test procedures, interpret complex test results, and ensure donor/recipient compatibility. You will provide guidance to resolve compatibility issues, offer reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion facilities, and supply antigen-negative units to transfusion recipients. Demonstrating exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and a positive professional image are key aspects of this role.
Salary Information:
$80,000/year - $100,000 depending on experience
Schedule:
Day shift, Monday-Friday with flexible start and end times based on operational needs. Minimal on-call duties and no routine holiday coverage required.
Key Responsibilities:
Consult with hospitals and transfusion facilities to resolve serological issues and supply special units Supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure proper patient care Maintain quality and adequacy of testing and consultation services Perform and interpret donor and/or patient testing procedures Manage budgetary information and approve purchases Conduct record reviews and participate in inspections and audits Perform other related duties as necessary
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a biological or related field and SBB (ASCP) equivalent required Minimum 5 years of high complexity blood bank testing experience or equivalent One year of management experience or training Excellent written and verbal communication skills
