KS ABOUT THE
ROLEUnder general supervision, oversees the operations of site laboratory facility including the review and interpretation of analytical waste material procedures and diagnostic tests to ensure only acceptable waste materials are utilized at the facility. Participates as a member of the site management team and makes recommendations for budgeting, goals and strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Performs routine to complex chemical analyses on waste material samples using a variety of laboratory equipment such as a gas chromatograph and atomic absorption unit to analyze chemical properties of waste materials.
Manages, develops, and instructs chemists in the use of analytical equipment, diagnostic procedures and interpretation of waste samples and establishes workflow, including priorities.
Oversees MACT testing, tank compliance and tank tender documentation, certifying the quality and content of blended waste fuel substances and communicating with the cement plant regarding analytical data.
Reviews and approves the interpretation of analytical test results.
Develops calibration tables and determines procedures for blending of waste fuel materials and tendering of tanks, in conjunction with the Production Manager. Manages special projects for the site as assigned.
Guided by the site Waste Analysis Plan (WAP), counsels with other Systech Lab Managers and the Technical Director on new analytical procedures, interpretation and analysis of waste materials, and training techniques or instructions for new or modified chemical procedures.
Maintains detailed knowledge of technical laboratory procedures and protocols used in analyzing the chemical and physical properties of waste materials.
Maintains an effective workforce to achieve site goals. Hires, supervises, trains, and appraises all assigned personnel.
Oversees site compliance with health and safety policies as required.
Assist in other work areas of the facility when necessary to meet site emergencies or production priorities.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors

Education:
Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred:
Physical or Life SciencesRequired Work Experience:
3 - 5 years operational experience in a technical work environment related to waste management and three years of experience in a managerial position is required
Required Technical Skills:
Basic Microsoft Office including

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
