Phillips County Health Systems is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our laboratory services in our award-winning Critical Access Hospital. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative leadership team where your expertise directly influences patient care, operational excellence, and the future of healthcare in our community. What You'll Do As Laboratory Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of our laboratory while ensuring exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, and quality performance. You'll lead a talented laboratory team while partnering closely with physicians, nursing, and hospital leadership to support outstanding clinical care.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead, coach, and develop laboratory staff Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, state, and federal regulatory standards Oversee quality assurance and continuous quality improvement initiatives Manage departmental budgeting, purchasing, and financial performance Maintain laboratory policies, procedures, and competency programs Support implementation of new laboratory technology and testing capabilities Collaborate with administration on equipment planning and capital purchases Oversee laboratory information systems, reference testing, and outreach services Participate as a member of the hospital leadership team in strategic planning and organizational improvement initiatives What We're Looking For We're seeking someone who is: An experienced laboratory professional with leadership or supervisory experience Passionate about quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement A collaborative communicator who enjoys working across departments Organized, proactive, and committed to developing high-performing teams Excited to help shape the future of laboratory services in a growing rural health system Qualifications Bachelor's or Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification required Previous laboratory leadership or supervisory experience preferred Broad knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, quality systems, and regulatory compliance Why Phillips County Health Systems?
