Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a full-time an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team. The Laboratory Manager will drive a portfolio of complex cross functional programs from concept to implementation. The programs will range from improving customer delivery quality and speed, scaling operations in the most efficient manner, improving financial performance, integrating new operating models and customer propositions, and more. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is always striving for improvement and has a strong desire to learn and have an impact in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
  • You will play a primary role in establishing the workplace culture and define the quality and rate at which the laboratory progresses over time.
  • You will manage all the clinical laboratory operations including technical, scientific, and support functions.
  • You will oversee and improve the financial performance of the laboratory, including budgeting and planning for all laboratory and support departments.
  • You will Identify and implement the appropriate strategies for reducing costs and improving the quality of services offered to customers.
  • You will direct the activities of the laboratory team members to ensure day-to-day operations are in compliance with internal policies, procedures.
  • You will collaborate with the R&D team to assist in the development and implementation of new testing or methodologies.
  • You will be the point person to ensure all constituents such as referring physicians, clients, sales, and marketing groups work seamlessly with the laboratory.
  • You will influence change in opinions and attitudes of others towards the common goal and focus on bringing the necessary people, processes, and other resources in place to achieve it.
  • You will Inspire others to find self-motivation, greater creativity, and productivity and create team spirit.
Requirements & Desired Experience:
  • 5- 7 years of relevant laboratory experience (clinical laboratory, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries)
  • Must have 2 years experience operating clinical chemistry equipment including but not limited to: AU480, Access 2, Sysmex (XN550), Bio Rad, Thermo Fisher QS Strong technical knowledge of molecular biology and molecular testing laboratory practices
  • Ability to adapt/modify leadership and communication styles to achieve best outcomes
  • Success with team building, employee engagement, and employee recognition initiatives
  • Experience in balancing all aspects of staffing, workflow, and prioritization within the operation
  • Attention to detail, organizational ability, clinical judgement, and good communication skills
Work Schedule:
  • 2 weeks Monday through Friday 9:30am-6:00pm, must be on the bench processing specimens from 3:30pm-6pm
  • 2 weeks Wednesday through Sunday; 9:30am-6:00pm Wednesday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm Saturday and Sunday on the bench Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
