Job Description

This job involves the management and coordination of people and instrumentation to keep preparation and analytical work smoothly flowing through one of two HPLC groups while meeting all quality and safety requirements.
SHIFT:
as defined.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS/BA in a directly related science field or an equivalent combination of experience and coursework. 5 years plus of laboratory experience plus a minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience Demonstrated management or supervisory skills in a laboratory environment. Knowledge of standard lab procedures and instrumentation. Able to work well in a production team environment with strong organizational skills. Consistent attention to detail and verbal/written communication skills. Computer skills with laboratory LIMS and instrumentation software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated method development and/or troubleshooting skills with HPLC and TLC instrumentation. Detailed instrumentation knowledge for work in area, including knowledge of instrument software such as Empower and Chromeleon. Background/Knowledge in dietary supplement testing. Background/Knowledge in EPA testing methods. Knowledge of
NSF/ANSI
standards. Ability to work Saturday shift.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: Ability to handle both desk and laboratory work environments. Train, develop, motivate, and evaluate a competent workforce in cooperation with the management team. Overall responsibility to ensure that production targets and turnaround time goals are met. Ensure that the team meets safety, quality, and cost control objectives, proactively identifying risks and driving corrective actions. Coordinate resources between groups, particularly between the two HPLC teams. Provide technical oversight and help with troubleshooting/problem resolution as appropriate for testing in the HPLC group. Ensure that equipment and instruments are appropriately maintained, and that lab documentation is well organized and up to date. Ensure clear, effective communication across shifts and act as an escalation point for operational and quality concerns. Drive adoption of new processes, systems, or organizational changes. Provide clear, data driven updates on performance, risks, and mitigation plans. Perform other duties as requested. #LI-KG1
