Schedule:
Full-Time , clinical hours (7:30am-4pm or 8am-4:30pm), M-F 40 hours/week. Preferably direct-hire/permanent but will consider temp-to-hire for the right candidates who are interested.
Location:
Clinical setting in Edina, MN .
Pay rate:

The Laboratory General Supervisor is a Medial Lab Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist who is responsible for technical and scientific oversight of the lab. They are responsible for oversight of a team of one additional lab scientist (the team may grow in the future) along with performing duties to operate the lab with the highest quality safety and integrity on a daily basis. This lab will obtain 900-1,000 urine samples/month utilizing Beckman and Shimadzu equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform moderate to high complexity levels of testing and follow procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient results (Mainly toxicollogy, specifically urine, qualitative and quantitative). Perform testing of proficiency samples to ensure testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens, and adhere to the lab's quality control policies and documenting all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance. Document corrective actions as needed whenever test systems are not within the lab's established acceptance levels of performance, and identifyh problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. Notify the Technical Supervisor as needed. Ensure patient's results are not reported until all corrective action has been taken and the test system is functioning properly. Monitor test analyses and specimen examination, and ensure the environmental conditions are appropriate for the testing performed. Provide a safe environment from physical, chemical and biological hazards, and maintain lab cleanliness and equipment/instrument temperature records. Ensure daily startup and shutdown procedures are performed daily. Provide supervision/oversight of one additional lab scientist (team may grow in the future). All other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Doctorate, master's, or bachelor's degree in laboratory science (chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science) AND 1 year lab training/experience in high complexity testing. Associate's degree AND graduated from a clinical laboratory training program AND 2 years lab training/experience in high complexity testing. Previously qualified as General Supervisor before 2/28/1992. Prior to 9/1/1992, served as General Supervisor of high complexity testing AND have a high school diploma or equivalent AND more than 10 years experience in high complexity testing including at least 6 years supervisory experience from 9/1/1982 to 9/1/1992. Prior to 9/1/1992, served as General Supervisor of high complexity testing AND prior to 1/1/1994 passed an HHA approved technical proficiency exam given between 3/1/1986 and 12/31/1987 AND 6 years lab training/experience with 2 years in high complexity testing. LCMS testing experience is strongly preferred , High Complexity testing experience is preferred. Comfort/experience with Beckman and Shimadzu lab equipment is preferred but not required. Management/supervisory experience is preferred but not required. Good communication skills, punctuality and professionalism. Work well independently and with others.
