This role involves managing laboratory workflows, supervising technical staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining high-quality testing procedures. The ideal candidate will be a leader with a strong background in clinical laboratory practices, laboratory management, and team supervision. Responsibilities Lead and supervise laboratory collection site personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements such as CLIA regulations. Oversee specimen collection, processing, and analysis using techniques for blood collections, and drug and alcohol testing for urine, hair, oral, and nails. DOT testing. Manage daily lab operations, including schedule management, workflow optimization, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines. Ensure rigorous quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures are followed for all laboratory tests and processes. Maintain comprehensive documentation within laboratory information systems (LIS), document management systems, and data collection platforms for accuracy and compliance. Monitor laboratory equipment such as phlebotomy tools to guarantee optimal performance. Facilitate training and development of team members in laboratory techniques like venipuncture, blood sampling, aseptic technique, and physiology knowledge. Enforce safety standards related to blood banking, specimen handling, and clinical procedures while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with clinical teams on trial protocols, specimen collection procedures, and data management for research or clinical trials projects. Conduct regular audits of lab activities to ensure compliance with hospital policies, CLIA regulations, and accreditation standards. Qualifications Proven experience in medical laboratory collection site settings. Strong background in drug testing, DOT testing, occupational health testing, phlebotomy or physiology with knowledge of laboratory procedures and medical terminology. Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory or team management experience in a healthcare or research environment. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIS), document management systems, and data management tools. Knowledge of CLIA regulations and compliance management for clinical laboratories. Experience with blood sampling techniques such as venipuncture and phlebotomy; ability to perform specimen collection/processing efficiently. Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for quality assurance purposes. Ability to manage schedules effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy in a fast-paced setting. Strong communication skills for training staff and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams involved in clinical trials or hospital-based work environments.
