Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Lead Technologist to oversee the daily operations of the laboratory while serving as a technical resource and mentor to staff. This role combines hands-on laboratory testing with leadership responsibilities, ensuring quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical laboratory expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing team members. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily workflow of the laboratory section by assigning work, monitoring productivity, and ensuring timely completion of testing. Serve as a technical expert and resource for Medical Laboratory Scientists, Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and laboratory support staff. Perform complex laboratory testing while maintaining accuracy, quality, and turnaround times. Assist with staff training, orientation, competency assessments, and ongoing professional development. Support hiring activities, employee engagement, performance improvement, and resolution of staff concerns. Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, TJC, AABB, and other applicable accreditation and regulatory standards. Monitor quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and instrument performance to maintain laboratory excellence. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical, operational, and quality-related issues promptly. Review and verify laboratory results, ensuring accuracy before release to the patient's medical record. Develop, review, and update laboratory policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols. Utilize the Laboratory Information System (LIS) effectively for documentation, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives. Verify specimen integrity and ensure all samples meet testing requirements. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service. Support departmental initiatives and organizational change while maintaining effective communication across teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related laboratory science field.

One of the following certifications:

MLS (ASCP) MT (ASCP) MT (AMT) Minimum 2 years of recent clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or reference laboratory setting. Previous leadership, charge, or supervisory experience is preferred. Required Skills Strong technical knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and instrumentation. Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to prioritize workload and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. AM Compensation Pay Range:

$35.50•$53.25 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Work in an environment with exposure to biological specimens, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and laboratory equipment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including lab coat, gloves, eye protection, and gowns when required.
