Quality Systems Manager - Per Diem Quality Systems Manager - Per Diem
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide guidance and leadership to ensure laboratory regulatory compliance with all applicable agencies such as NYSDOH, CAP and Joint Commission.JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Consult with and keep Laboratory Director informed of activities, needs, and problems. Consult with medical staff and other health care providers on matters relating to laboratory services. Evaluate Department performance and initiate, recommend and effect measure to improve services and quality of current methodologies. Establish objectives and quality of work performance. Assist in development and implementation of established policies and procedures. Assist with conversion and standardization with Stony Brook Laboratory policies and procedures. Periodic audits of laboratory operations for compliance. Statistical reporting to laboratory management and/or hospital administration. Identification of nonconformities and/or laboratory operations improvement opportunities. Interact with regulatory agencies including inspections. Coordination of laboratory staff continuing education program. Advise and assist with the development of laboratory staff competencies. Interact with laboratory administration, supervisors, hospital staff, and physicians in respect to services provided by the laboratory. Plan, recommend and assist with performance improvement and/or corrective actions necessitated by any of the above activities. Communicate with health care providers to assure problems are resolved and their needs addressed. Provide in service training and encourage professional growth and development of Laboratory Personnel. Investigate incidents, take appropriate action and prepare reports maintain good employee and interdepartmental relations. Investigate new products, equipment, demonstrate and recommend as is appropriate. Consult with Laboratory Director concerning any problems. Perform duties as directed by the Laboratory Director. Maintain Hospital and Department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or related Science. NYSED Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (or permit). 6 (six) years' experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (or equivalent title), Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, etc.). Customer Service skills. As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.Special Notes :

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBSH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Your total compensation goes beyond the number in your paycheck! Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital's Employee Health Services- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references. Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen
