Job Description

LEAD LABORATORY SECRETARY
In support of day-to-day operations in the Outpatient Collection Centers and Main Laboratory. Monday through Friday, hours dependent on workflow. In support of day-to-day operations of the clinic laboratory and all sites associated with Meadville Medical Center and its subsidiaries. Oversight of preanalytical functions, scheduling of the secretarial staff, order entry, and quality assurance. Provides direction and support secretarial staff. Trains or coordinates the training of new secretarial staff in accordance with all laboratory policies and procedures. Monitors and enforces all customer services standards. Monitors and enforces appropriate scripting for secretarial staff in relation to customer service standards.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Training in Phlebotomy or Medial Assistant course preferred. Previous experience in laboratory secretarial functions, phlebotomy, and direct patient care preferred. Must possess good communication skills.
