1st Shift Wed - Sat 7:00am - 6:00pm MGC Pure Chemicals America, Inc. is an expanding and stable chemical manufacturing company located in Killeen TX. We are looking for a qualified Laboratory Supervisor to join our team. Overview The Laboratory Supervisor will supervise laboratory operations and personnel to assure quality control of all samples. Plan and implement control of laboratory building, supplies and instrumentation for continuous operations. Be vigilant of any issues and conditions that can affect their department. Report any issues that can impact the environment or safety of the employees. Duties /

Responsibilities:

Coordinates Laboratory Procedures:

Plans and establishes schedules with follow-up against estimates. Enforces all Laboratory procedures and answers laboratory technician's questions about policies and procedures. Aligns with laboratory manager on company objectives and priorities. Communicates with other departments about customer product priorities and product non-conformances. Investigates Laboratory claims and problems. Makes recommendations to Management for changes to Laboratory procedures as necessary. Coordinates laboratory operations based on shipment priorities and customer's requirements. Responsible for the preservation of the analytical equipment and facility to operational conditions at all times. Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.

Analyzes Information:

Analyzes equipment data and ensures that all data generated from the laboratory maintains its integrity. Analyzes cost controls and statistical data. Reviews technical problems and recommends solutions to problems and changes in procedures. Prepares reports for management about Laboratory information and recommendations as necessary. Ensures analytical equipment and measurement capabilities are maintained at all times. Must check instrument maintenance activities and troubleshooting by utilizing the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) approach. Performs daily Data Analysis Review to confirm accuracy and consistency. Must act quickly to avoid delays.

Supervises Staff:

Provides direction and delegation of responsibilities to subordinate staff. Builds a strong laboratory team by developing a positive teamwork environment. Evaluates work performed by staff, provides feedback and trains staff when necessary. Performs fair and un-biased comprehensive personnel performance evaluations. Trains staff to improve operational accuracy and efficiency. Trains regularly to ensure all technicians are certified to operate analytical equipment. Performs coaching councils and disciplinary documents, etc., when needed. Performs other duties as required and assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent mathematical skills. Thorough understanding of chemical tests and processes. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to motivate personnel as well as have the managerial and communication skills to ensure proper procedures are being followed as required. Must be able to schedule personnel and maintain performance records as required Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to draft laboratory reports.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 3 years' experience or Associates degree in Chemistry, related science or equivalent with 5+ years' experience. Minimum of 5 years' experience in analytical laboratory testing. A minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisor role. Physical Requirements /

Work Conditions:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Exposure to various chemicals and compounds. Ability to work 1st shift and weekends.
