Job Description
Job Summary Provides overall leadership, direction, and administration of laboratory operations at Mon Health Medical Center and Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital. Ensures quality, cost efficient laboratory testing services in compliance with all applicable regulatory regulations. Responsibilities Efficiency Structures staff work assignments to achieve high levels of efficiency. Identifies, monitors, and improves key departmental processes to ensure effective outcomes. Goal Setting Establishes challenging and measurable goals that are aligned with corporate strategic goals and objectives. Anticipates problems and identifies solutions. Project Management Effectively identifies and obtains requires resources to accomplish goals in the most efficient manner. Organizes and manages long-term goals and projects, as well as short term workflow. Assesses all aspects of a project and establishes appropriate and achievable deadlines. Budget Prepares sound budget projections in a thorough manner. Monitors monthly departmental budget for variances in FTEs, salary, and other expenses - Correcting or adjusting for any unnecessary variances. Staff Management Develops and implements a formal departmental staff orientation, training, and development plan. Identifies the need for disciplinary action and follows appropriate policies. Ensures all staff complete orientation and mandatory educational requirements.
