About Ramaco Ramaco Resources is pioneering the development of one of the United States' most unique unconventional rare earth element and coal deposits. Our team integrates geology, mining engineering, and innovative resource development to advance the Brook Mine project in Sheridan County, Wyoming. We are seeking a motivated Analytical Laboratory Manager to join our team. This role will play a central part in advancing the analytical functions of our on-site laboratory and the Brook Mine project. Position Overview The Brook Mine Site Analytical Laboratory Manager leads all analytical and operational functions of the on‑site laboratory supporting an open‑pit mining operation and a complex processing plant. This role ensures accurate, timely data for ore control, metallurgical optimization, environmental compliance, and production decision‑making. Candidates must have 10+ years of laboratory experience , with leadership in mining or mineral processing environments. This position will report to Senior Vice President of Critical Minerals. Key Responsibilities Mine & Plant Laboratory Operations Analytical laboratory fit out and operations, overseeing sample preparation, fire assay, wet chemistry, ICP‑OES/ICP‑MS, XRF, particle size distribution, slurry characterization, and other mineral‑processing‑related analyses. Manage analytical workflows for mine grade control, stockpile management, metallurgy, environmental monitoring, and process optimization. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with company's internal standards, policies, and procedures. Quality Assurance & Compliance Maintain QA/QC systems industry standards. Validate analytical results, troubleshoot deviations, and maintain error‑free data reporting. Support compliance with MSHA/OSHA and environmental sampling regulations. Leadership & Workforce Development Supervise laboratory technicians, chemists, and others working in the analytical laboratory. Provide training on new technologies, safe laboratory practices, and analytical methods. Conduct performance reviews and staff development programs. Equipment & Resource Management Direct maintenance, calibration, and optimization of analytical instruments. Manage inventory, procurement, vendor relationships, and the laboratory budget. Data Integrity & Reporting Ensure traceable, secure, accurate data management. Deliver routine and ad hoc analytical reports to operations, geology, metallurgical groups and management. Work closely with mine planning, mineral processing, metallurgical and environmental teams to align laboratory services with production goals. Safety & Environmental Stewardship Follow all company safety protocols and promote a culture of safety onsite. Represent Ramaco Resources with integrity in all external and internal interactions. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of laboratory experience , with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role within mining or mineral processing. Degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Geology, Materials Science, or similar field. Expertise with mine‑site analytical methods (fire assay, ICP, XRF, etc.). Experience with QA/QC programs and quality accreditation systems. Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities. Preference for experience in open‑pit operations and complex processing environments (e.g., flotation, leaching, hydrometallurgy). Experience with advanced data systems.
