A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

NO Position Purpose:
All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI's vision of providing the region's best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance. Performs patient and proficiency testing with related quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and testing. Key Responsibilities- Test procedures are correctly executed and performed without errors according to established policy and procedure.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or other related clinical science field from an accredited institution or equivalent acceptable education as defined by CLIA.Certification/Licensure:
MLS (ASCP), AMT, AAB or NCA (formerly HEW) required within 1 year of hire.Preferences Experience:
Minimum of 1 year previous hospital laboratory experienceSpecial Position Requirements Exposure Categories:
Category I:
Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues Work Requirements- Frequent walking of about 2-3 miles per day.
- Occasional lifting of 40-50 pounds or less.
- Occasional bending, stooping or reaching.
- Sitting for prolonged periods (40-50% of the time).
- Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors.
