Where You'll Work Founded in 1958, Dignity Health - Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital is a 104-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Grass Valley, California. Serving over 80,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including heart care, cancer care, women's health, and neurology. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Clinical Lab Scientist, you will be a critical diagnostic expert, performing complex laboratory tests to ensure accurate, timely results vital for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Every day, you will execute a wide range of analytical procedures across various lab disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.). You'll analyze specimens, operate/maintain instruments, interpret results, and conduct quality control, providing crucial data for clinical decisions.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a strong scientific foundation, advanced technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Your paramount commitment will be to accuracy and regulatory adherence. Analyzes various samples in all departments of the Laboratory, following standard procedures. Assesses the validity of results obtained according to age and sex, accurately records and reports results. Documents problems in the Laboratory and solves and/or suggest corrective action(s). Performs routine calibration and adjustment of equipment, checks standardization curves. Receives or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis. Performs and assesses quality control with each test to verify accuracy and reproducibility of tests; if out of control, takes corrective action.
