A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Job Description

SCIENTIST, CLINICAL LABORATORY

Position Summary:

Performs clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens according to established standards and practices. Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary for interpretation and performance of test results, age-specific data, quality control, instrument maintenance, and quality improvement practices. Assists in the instruction and education of new Clinical Laboratory Scientist and students with regard to testing procedures, department policies, quality control, and instrument maintenance . May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

[Required] Current valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license issued by the State of California. Bachelor s Degree in Biological Science or Medical Technology.

[Preferred Qualifications]:

One + year of experience as a CLS in an acute care facility.

Salary range:

$54.73 - $77.01 Salary will be commensurate with experience.

SALARY RANGE INCLUDES NIGHT SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL
