Job Description

A full-time Medical Technologist opportunity is available in Brooksville, Florida, supporting a hospital laboratory that performs both stat and routine testing across Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical environment where accuracy, efficiency, and independent judgment are essential to patient care. The Medical Technologist works under the direction of laboratory leadership to perform a wide range of clinical testing procedures while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. This position involves applying medical laboratory principles to produce timely and accurate results, conducting quality control checks, and interpreting patient data, including delta checks. The technologist is also responsible for identifying and correcting out-of-range results, maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, managing supplies and reagents, and supporting CAP and other regulatory compliance requirements. Handling of critical specimens and communication of critical results are key components of the role.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and stat clinical laboratory testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology. Execute quality control procedures and ensure accuracy of test results. Interpret and correlate patient data, including delta checks. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve instrument or result discrepancies. Maintain laboratory equipment, including routine maintenance and basic repairs. Manage reagent inventory and laboratory supplies. Support CAP and other regulatory compliance standards. Handle and communicate critical laboratory results according to protocol. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all laboratory findings.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Medical Technology or related field required. Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred. Active Florida State Medical Technologist license required. Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Technologist required. Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures across Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology. Ability to work independently in a high-volume laboratory environment. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Schedule:
Full-time Third shift (10:00 PM
  • 6:30 AM) 8
  • 10• or 12-hour shift options Rotating weekends
