Mandatory Certifications:
The below certifications are needed for this role. Current Florida Technologist license in Hematology or as a generalist ASCP or AMT certification Responsibilities Performs complex laboratory procedures following established laboratory policies and procedures; reports test results, monitors workflow, and manages instrumentation maintenance with minimal supervision. Evaluates and ensures compliance with service guarantees and specimen quality requirements. Identifies and recommends process improvement opportunities to improve team effectiveness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs essential duties of Medical Technologist, Intermediate independently (50%) Performs training for teammates and may act as a preceptor; may perform competency assessments (15%) Identifies and recommends process improvement opportunities (10%) Assists in evaluation of test methodologies and equipment (5%) Assists in development and compliance of policies and procedures (5%) Assists with workflow monitoring, inspection readiness, and resource management (5%) Assists with inventory management and supplies (5%) Other duties as assigned (5%) Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or related field. 2-6 years of experience preferred. 6+ years of experience required to work unsupervised. Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations Current State of Florida license as a technologist in the related specialty Current Florida Technologist license in hematology or multi-specialty Certification by a professional laboratory certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT) Physical Demands Ability to lift 5-50 lbs unassisted; stand, sit, stoop, walk, stretch, reach, and use full range of body motions.
