Job Description

Category Laboratory - Medical Technologist Job Type Contract Deliver vital laboratory services in a dynamic healthcare setting as a skilled Medical Technologist. In this generalist role, you'll support diagnostic excellence across multiple disciplines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all areas of the laboratory. Your expertise as a Medical Technologist—rather than MLT—will be highly valued as you work a consistent 6:00 pm to 6:00 am shift (36 hours per week) for a 24-week assignment, with extension opportunities available.
Schedule:
6:00 pm - 6:00 am 36 hours per week
Qualifications:
ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification required State of Florida laboratory license required Completion of college degree in a relevant field (diploma or transcripts required) Experience as a generalist Medical Technologist—proficiency across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology Attention to detail and ability to work independently in overnight shifts
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and report laboratory tests accurately in all generalist areas Follow protocols for specimen handling and lab safety Calibrate and maintain equipment to ensure reliable results Analyze test findings to assist clinical staff in patient care decisions Collaborate with nursing and physician teams, providing timely updates on critical results Participate in quality assurance, continuing education, and process improvement initiatives
