Category Laboratory - Medical Technologist Job Type Contract An excellent opportunity is available for a skilled and dedicated laboratory professional to contribute to a high-performing clinical team. This contract Generalist role is ideal for a well-rounded Medical Technologist who demonstrates expertise across varied areas of laboratory diagnostics and is committed to delivering accurate, timely results essential to quality patient care.
Schedule/Hours:
Night shifts: 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. 36 hours per week 24-week assignment with possible extension
Qualifications:
Must hold current certification as a Medical Technologist through ASCP, AMT, or AAB (MLT certifications are not eligible) Valid State of Florida laboratory license required Completion of an approved college program in Medical Technology (must provide diploma or transcripts) Proficiency as a generalist across all major disciplines of the clinical laboratory
Responsibilities:
Perform the full range of laboratory testing and analysis as a generalist, including hematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology, urinalysis, and blood bank procedures Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide variety of laboratory instruments Adhere to all laboratory policies, quality control measures, and safety regulations Accurately document results and communicate critical values with clinical teams as necessary Participate in continuing education and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives
