JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs moderate, and high complexity laboratory analysis in accordance with established criteria and guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Graduate of an accredited two-year medical laboratory technician training program preferred. Associate in chemistry or biology or equivalent training, education, and experience per CLIA required.

Licensure/certification:

ASCP or nationally recognized equivalent. Medical Laboratory Technician certification within one year of employment

Previous Work Experience:

Previous experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.

Skills:

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English with people from diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds both orally and in writing. Ability to read and understand/follow written and verbal directions. Requires organizational and self motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. Must demonstrate ability to utilize effective decision-making and problem solving techniques. Ability to work independently and interdependently with the health care team. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations and focused amid interruptions in a potentially fast paced environment.
