Job Description

Description The Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for the collection and processing of laboratory specimens as well as the reporting of results and preparation of reports at the
COLA/CLIA
moderate complexity level. Duties include processing patient samples, Daily QC and Calibrations on various analyzers. Requirements Key Areas of Responsibility •
Perform Complex Testing :
Conduct tests in various disciplines like Chemistry, Blood bank, Hematology, Microbiology, and Immunology on patient samples.
Analyze & Interpret Results :
Examine blood cells, identify microorganisms, check blood chemistry (glucose, electrolytes), and perform blood typing for transfusions.
Ensure Quality & Accuracy :
Implement quality control, calibrate instruments, validate methods, and troubleshoot issues to guarantee reliable data.
Communicate Findings :
Report critical results promptly to physicians and nurses, explaining the significance of the lab data.
Maintain Equipment :
Calibrate, maintain, and validate advanced laboratory instruments.
Consult & Research :
Advise healthcare providers on test selection and may design or evaluate new testing methods.
