Conduct chem analyses to detect abnormalities of diseases. Set up, adjust, maintain & clean med lab eqpmnt; use special mech. and electr. devices to analyze results of tests & eqpmnt. Conduct blood tests for transfusion purposes & perform blood counts. Obtain specimens; cultivate, isolate & identify microorganisms. Obtain, analyze & report lab results. Examine cells to locate abnormalities; collect blood/tissue samples; observe principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples. Perform maintenance on lab instrumentation for QA.
