What they do
A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

- Performs technical laboratory functions including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Immunology and Microbiology testing.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
Education:
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree required. (MT only)
Licensure:
- Certification, by a nationally recognized professional registry, within 1 year of employment is preferred
Experience:
- Clinical laboratory internship. Two years of clinical experience is preferred.
