Job Description

Medical Technologist (ASCP) Full-Time Evenings or Nights (Weekends Only) Kansas City, Kansas Looking for a stable, full-time Blood Bank opportunity with a respected acute care hospital? Join a collaborative laboratory team where your expertise truly makes an impact. We are hiring a Medical Technologist (ASCP) for a full-time position offering:
  • Evening Shift 40 hours/week
  • Night Shift Thursday Sunday (32 hours/week)
  • Weekends Only Schedule Available This is a 190-bed acute care hospital serving the Kansas City region with advanced services in cancer care, women s services, robotic surgery, bariatrics, rehabilitation, and more.
You ll work alongside experienced physicians and clinical teams dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-analytic duties including specimen collection, processing, clerical work, and data entry
  • Conduct waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing on blood and body fluids (CLIA 1988 standards)
  • Report and verify results; investigate unexpected findings
  • Monitor and document quality control
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment
  • Correlate abnormal lab data with pathologic states
  • Assist with training and mentoring lab personnel and students
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Medical Technology or related science required
  • ASCP Certification required (MT/MLS or specialty equivalent)
  • Minimum 1+ year of recent Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital lab (required non-acute care experience will not be considered) Interested!
