A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

POSITION SUMMARY
Position Summary:
The medical technologist performs a variety of laboratory tests, procedures and related duties, in order to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, by following established standards and practices. The medical technologist is responsible for the orderly processing of patient specimens during the assigned work shift. This includes specimen collection, testing, processing, and reporting of accurate results. Includes issue resolution in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases. The technologist maintains active communication and strengthens collaborative relationships among the pathologists, medical staff, nursing units, their specific section, and other lab staff.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or related field Minimum Experience Registered or registry eligible MT/MLS approved program Required Registration/License/Certification MT(ASCP) OR MLS(ASCP)
