Category Laboratory - Medical Technologist Job Type Contract Step into a key laboratory role where your expertise as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician will make a significant impact. This contract opportunity calls for motivated professionals with a strong background as an MT/MLT Generalist to contribute essential support to laboratory services.

Qualifications:
Current New York State license as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Proven generalist skills and competency across core laboratory disciplines (chemistry, hematology, blood bank, microbiology) Associates or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (as applicable) Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements Minimum of one year experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory preferred Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage specimen workflow efficiently Excellent organizational and communication abilities Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced setting and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
Perform accurate and timely testing on blood, body fluids, and tissue specimens using advanced lab equipment Analyze, interpret, and validate test results within designated turnaround times Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance Adhere to laboratory protocols, safety standards, and documentation requirements Monitor quality assurance indicators and participate in proficiency testing and continuing education Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow technicians to support patient care needs Uphold confidentiality and compliance with all relevant policies and regulatory bodies
