Job Description

A healthcare organization in the Capital Region of New York is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join a high-complexity hospital laboratory team with a strong focus on transfusion services and multi-disciplinary testing. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and STAT testing across all core laboratory areas Primary focus on blood bank / transfusion medicine testing and procedures Process, analyze, and verify patient specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation Perform quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance activities Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all reported results Support workflow across Chemistry, Hematology, and Blood Bank as needed Participate in training of new staff and students when required Maintain compliance with hospital and laboratory standards at all times Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field ASCP certification required Strong hospital blood bank experience required New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure required or eligible Ability to work independently on night shift in a fast-paced environment Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills Comfortable covering multiple core lab areas when needed Confidential opportunity within a well-established healthcare system.
