Job Overview:
KJ Management Group is seeking a Clinical Toxicology Laboratory Technologist for a high-complexity, CLIA-certified clinical laboratory in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position is specifically focused on clinical toxicology and urine drug testing , including
LC-MS/MS
confirmation testing, specimen preparation, laboratory workflow, quality control, instrument maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Hospital laboratory experience is a

REQUIRED.
We are specifically seeking candidates with a clinical laboratory background . Experience exclusively in microbiology, PCR/DNA, food chemistry/testing, environmental testing, industrial chemistry, academic research, or non-clinical research laboratories does NOT meet the experience requirement for this position. Candidates with clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, LC-MS/MS, hospital laboratory, or clinical reference laboratory experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Accession, prepare, and process human urine specimens for clinical toxicology testing Prepare samples for
LC-MS/MS
confirmation testing Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot
LC-MS/MS
laboratory instrumentation Perform routine instrument maintenance, calibration, and quality control procedures Monitor laboratory workflow and pending samples within the LIS to ensure appropriate turnaround times Review and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly QC/QA documentation Prepare reagents, calibrators, controls, and laboratory supplies Participate in proficiency testing Follow established laboratory SOPs and quality management procedures Maintain documentation required for CLIA compliance and inspection readiness Identify and communicate specimen, QC, instrumentation, or workflow issues Communicate effectively with the Technical Supervisor and Laboratory Director regarding workflow, data quality, and regulatory matters Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory Experience working with human patient specimens Understanding of clinical laboratory quality control and documentation requirements Must meet applicable CLIA high-complexity testing personnel education requirements Bachelor's or qualifying Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or another qualifying chemical, physical, or biological science Ability to work independently and follow established laboratory procedures and SOPs Strong attention to accuracy, documentation, and quality control Highly Preferred Experience Hospital laboratory experience is a
MAJOR PLUS.

inspection experience Proficiency testing Instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting Candidates with strong hospital laboratory experience who meet CLIA high-complexity testing personnel requirements are encouraged to apply even if they have not previously worked specifically in toxicology. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate has worked in a hospital, clinical reference, or toxicology laboratory testing human patient specimens and understands the quality, documentation, and regulatory requirements of a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory. We are looking for someone who can transition into a clinical toxicology environment and become an integral part of the laboratory's day-to-day operations.
