A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Position Description:
This associate assumes technical responsibility for a clinical section of the laboratory. They are responsible for ensuring that all people working in the department are properly trained and competent. They also ensure that the department meets all regulatory requirements. They work in close contact with the Clinical Lab Manager in the day-to-day operations.
Duties:
Acts as a resource and provides technical advice to physician, nursing and laboratory associates in clinical laboratory procedures. Actively participates and maintains always survey readiness. Troubleshoots and displays leadership role in the absence of the POC, manager and director. Effectively performs, documents and reviews QA activities following SOP. Communicates with lab leadership on concerns affecting lab operations, quality and errors. Monitor performance of PT surveys in the department section and provide corrective action appropriately and education when needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
