Medical Laboratory Technologist Location Austin, TX 78738 Date Posted June 24, 2026 Job ID 14922 Employment Type Contract To Hire Pay rate $40/hour Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical Laboratory Technologist for an innovative and rapidly growing healthcare organization based in Austin, Texas. This full-time, onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to join a collaborative laboratory team dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic services while supporting exceptional patient care.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing high-complexity laboratory testing, specimen processing, quality control activities, instrument maintenance, and reporting accurate test results in accordance with established laboratory procedures and regulatory requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform high-complexity clinical laboratory testing in accordance with established standard operating procedures Process patient specimens and accurately analyze, document, and report test results Conduct and document quality control procedures, instrument calibrations, and preventive maintenance activities Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation to ensure optimal performance Identify, investigate, and document testing discrepancies, quality concerns, and corrective actions Prepare calibrators, reagents, and laboratory materials necessary for testing procedures Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in compliance with CLIA, CAP, and organizational standards Ensure adherence to all laboratory safety, infection control, and quality assurance policies Monitor laboratory supply levels and replenish testing bench materials as needed Collaborate effectively with laboratory leadership and team members to support efficient laboratory operations
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline required Minimum of two years of clinical laboratory testing experience required Eligibility to serve as Testing Personnel under CLIA regulations required Medical Technologist (MT) certification, ASCP certification, or equivalent certification preferred Experience working with Roche instrumentation strongly preferred
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position offers a competitive compensation range between $33-$43/hour commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
