Medical Technologist Richland, VA 24641 Varied Shift Reports to Lab Director Must have Bachelor's of Science major in Medical Laboratory Science Major in Medical Laboratory Science 1 year experience in acute lab setting Nice to have 2 or more years of experience in acute care lab setting A Medical Technologist who excels in this role: Follows standardized procedures and prepares patient samples for testing. Collects and analyzes bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, including blood samples for transfusions. Operates laboratory equipment safely and effectively. Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits; reports and documents findings according to organizational standards. Performs automated testing using computerized instruments and equipment. Conducts Quality Assurance to ensure accuracy and reliability of equipment and results. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned.
