Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
Location:
Essex, VT A health care organization in Northern Vermont is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its hospital laboratory team on a full-time basis. Position Highlights
  • Full-time opportunity (80 hours bi-weekly)
  • Night shift schedule with initial training on day/evening shifts

  • Perform routine and high-complexity diagnostic testing across multiple laboratory sections
  • Process and evaluate specimens in accordance with established procedures
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and systems
  • Perform quality control, maintenance, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of patient results
  • Support workflow across departments during varying workload demands
  • Participate in training and support of new staff and students when needed Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field
  • Eligibility for or possession of a Vermont Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
  • MLS certification required within 6 months of hire (ASCP preferred)
  • Hospital laboratory experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment
