Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
Location:
Essex, VT A health care organization in Northern Vermont is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its hospital laboratory team on a full-time basis. Position Highlights- Full-time opportunity (80 hours bi-weekly)
- Night shift schedule with initial training on day/evening shifts

- Perform routine and high-complexity diagnostic testing across multiple laboratory sections
- Process and evaluate specimens in accordance with established procedures
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and systems
- Perform quality control, maintenance, and regulatory compliance activities
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of patient results
- Support workflow across departments during varying workload demands
- Participate in training and support of new staff and students when needed Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field
- Eligibility for or possession of a Vermont Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
- MLS certification required within 6 months of hire (ASCP preferred)
- Hospital laboratory experience preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment
