The Clinical Educator - Technical Skills is a full-time administrative professional role within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) at Colorado State University. This position supports the innovative, hands-on curriculum of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program by working closely with faculty to facilitate skills-based learning. Technical skills educators play a vital role in instructing and supporting veterinary students in laboratory settings and simulation-based training. They contribute to the maintenance, organization, and development of simulation models and educational tools that prepare students for clinical excellence. Full Consideration Date:

Essential Duties Participate in the instruction and facilitation of hands-on clinical and technical skills training for veterinary students across the DVM curriculum under faculty guidance. Provide formative feedback to students during laboratory and simulation sessions to support skill development and clinical readiness. Assess and certify student competency in designated clinical and technical skills during laboratory practicals and assessments. Support the setup, breakdown, organization, and cleanup of clinical skills laboratories, simulations, and assessments. Maintain, organize, and inventory simulation models, equipment, and educational materials used in skills training. Contribute to the development, refinement, and maintenance of simulation models and other enduring instructional resources. Evaluate, implement, and maintain simulation software and tools that support simulated learning activities in the curriculum Share responsibility for staffing and supervising the Simulation Laboratory to ensure a clean, safe, organized, and biosecure learning environment. Supervision No formal supervisory duties Conditions of Employment Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Veterinary Technology (certification as CVT, RVT, equivalent) Minimum of five years of experience as a veterinary technician in small and/or large animal practice. Demonstrated proficiency in the safe handling and restraint of small and/or large animals. Experience in providing hands-on technical skills training and constructive feedback. Demonstrated strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative mindset. Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an educational or instructional setting. Evidence of manual dexterity and experience with hands-on fabrication, crafting, or model making. Experience working with educational simulation models, software, or other devices Experience developing educational materials or contributing to curriculum delivery. Application Instructions:
