Full Job Description Description:
Medication Administration Training and Instruction Plan, schedule, and teach required medication administration courses for DSPs and other unlicensed staff. Deliver classroom, skills-lab, and competency-based instruction using approved curricula and teaching materials. Ensure participants demonstrate safe medication administration practices, including MAR documentation, infection control, medication storage, PRN administration, and error reporting. . Clinical Education and Staff Development Teach additional clinical topics such as seizure management, diabetes care, aspiration precautions, feeding assistance, infection prevention, emergency protocols, and documentation standards. Support orientation and ongoing education for DSPs and support staff. Assist in developing and updating training materials, checklists, and competency forms. Adapt teaching methods to meet the learning needs of adult learners and DSP staff. Competency Validation Observe and evaluate staff performance during medication passes and health-related tasks. Document training completion, competency validation, remediation, and annual retraining in accordance with agency policy and regulatory requirements. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance Maintain knowledge of state IDD regulations, waiver requirements, and

Conditions of Participation related to nursing services and staff training. Ensure all training content reflects current state IDD and ICF requirements. Maintain accurate training records for survey readiness and audit purposes. Assist nursing leadership with preparation for state surveys, audits, and quality reviews. Participate in quality assurance activities related to medication administration and staff competency. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with Lead RN, Staff Nurses, QIDPs, Quality Team and Operations Leadership to identify training needs. Communicate participant performance, attendance, and remediation needs to leadership. Serve as a clinical resource for staff questions related to medication administration and delegated nursing tasks. #

Requirements:
Education and/or
Experience:
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program for RNs; OR Completion of a state-approved Practical or Vocational Nursing Program for LPN/LVNs Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in IDD, long-term care, residential care, home health, behavioral health, or a related setting Experience teaching or training adults in clinical settings Experience with EMR systems and learning management systems (LMS)
Licensure and Certification:
GA/OH/TN
- This position can only be filled by an RN.• Active RN or LPN license from state of residence. If work location is in a different state, must hold a multi-state RN license in accordance with the rules for Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Valid driver's license, with proof of auto insurance coverage Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
