Mercy is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Education, Training & E-Learning department within Healthcare & Medical Services. In this role, you will design, deliver, and evaluate clinical education programs that support nursing excellence and evidence-based practice. You will mentor nurses, coordinate orientation and competency assessments, and collaborate with clinical leaders to address learning needs. Responsibilities Assess learning needs of Trauma Neuro ICU and Med Surg ICU nursing staff and develop targeted education plans. Design, implement, and evaluate orientation programs for new graduate and experienced ICU nurses. Provide ongoing competency validation and skills assessment for ICU nursing staff. Develop and deliver classroom, simulation, skills lab, and e-learning education based on adult learning principles. Serve as a clinical expert and resource at the bedside, offering just-in-time coaching and consultation. Support implementation of evidence-based practices, new technologies, and updated clinical protocols. Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams on quality and patient safety initiatives. Use performance and outcome data to identify educational gaps and measure the impact of training. Assist in the development, review, and revision of ICU policies, procedures, and clinical pathways. Mentor and support preceptors, charge nurses, and nurses pursuing specialty certification or advanced roles. Promote a culture of compassion, diversity, and respect in all educational activities and interactions. Ensure educational practices support regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
