Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Critical Care Nurse Educator supports the Quadruple Aim goals of UNC Health Southeastern by working collaboratively with staff in the areas of cardiovascular and medical intensive care units, the progressive care unit, and the emergency department. The critical care educator identifies educational needs, plans, and implements programs using a variety of teaching/learning strategies. These educational offerings range from patient population-specific curricula to one-to-one teaching sessions with individual nursing staff members. In all endeavors, the educator promotes evidence-based practice by serving as a change-agent, teacher, mentor, and coach. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and
EXPERIENCE
Required:
Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina with at least 5 years of experience in specialty area, critical care preferred.
Baccalaureate in nursing required:
master's degree in nursing, nursing education or nursing specialty preferred.
Minimum Required:
Minimum of 5 years recent clinical nursing experience and at least 5 years of experience in specialty area Demonstrated supervisory skills. A Baccalaureate in nursing required enrollment in MS in related field with completion within 1 year from hire date.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS R/T
all areas Knowledge of current leadership, and quality improvement concepts. Ability to perform and or lead program development and implementation. Strong customer excellence skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient use of Word, Excel, and computer software applications

Full time-Benefits, Day, 8-5pm M-F
