Job Description
Find your calling at Mercy! The Professional Practice Specialist (PPS) works directly with organizational nursing leaders and multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate activities which promote excellence in nursing. The PPS reports to ministry nursing practice leader and/or facility CNO. The Specialist also models the principles of evidence-based practice throughout the organization as well as assuring compliance with regulation and accreditation process. This role supports nursing by serving as a resource to coordinate policy/procedure/protocol/standard work review and revisions, as needed. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Details:
Education :
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with master's degree in healthcare related field.Licensure :
RN with current unrestricted license in the State of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, or Oklahoma.Experience :
Minimum of 3 - 5 years clinical hospital experience.Certification/Registration :
Evidence Based Practice Certification (EBP-C) within 2 years of hireOther :
Strong verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Education :
DNP, PhD (or comparable) in nursing related field.Preferred Certification/Registration :
EBP-C Preferred Other :
Must be able to function well with a high degree of independence and initiative and possess an in-depth knowledge of nursing practice. Project Management experience. Demonstrates skills in leadership and human relations and organization. Ability to collaborate and facilitate within groups and between departments. Proficient in computer/software programs, such as Word, Excel, EPIC, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc. Why Mercy?
