Job Description Manages overall assigned responsibilities and projects within the Blood and Marrow Transplant program. Takes responsibility for quality, accreditation, regulatory oversight, and staff and patient education programs. Manages selected functions to support ongoing operations of the service line. Experience Five years of experience in healthcare management, administration, or consulting Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in life science, healthcare management, business, or related field Experience in clinical area, quality, and/or process improvement Education Bachelor of Science in relevant field Certification Summary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated leadership skills in facilitating and leading cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with groups or teams Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing priorities through time management and relationship management Proven aptitude for problem-solving and strategic thinking Proven ability to work independently/autonomously Proficient at a high level in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point Advanced oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to confront and creatively manage conflict Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization Demonstrates robust understanding of quality improvement methodology and data analysis Job Responsibilities Manages quality improvement and quality assurance activities for Blood and Marrow Transplant Program within Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center Facilitates multidisciplinary teams to evaluate processes and systems and generate alternatives and makes recommendations to reduce waste, increase utilization, reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction, and produce improved clinical outcomes Develops quality and service metrics to assess overall success of improvement efforts. Evaluates and implements new initiatives that assist in the achievement of system goals. Analyzes clinical and operational data and interprets results to ascertain baseline data; uses quality science methodologies to establish when improvement is achieved following intervention. Applies quality science tools and Model for Improvement to identify root causes of issues, craft aim statements, develop metrics, facilitate identification of changes that will result in improvement, and enable teams to implement tests of change. Ensures optimal, continual compliance with accreditation and regulatory agency requirements by routinely analyzing accreditation standards, regulatory rules, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta policies. Develops and implements activities and policies/procedures designed to meet agency requirements. Directs formulation of responses to accreditation and regulatory inspections. Develops, coordinates, and participates in ongoing, multifaceted quality assurance program. Monitors operational processes to ensure safe, efficient, and quality performance standards for patients, visitors, and employees. Supports and participates in continuous assessment and improvement of quality of care and services provided. May manage orientation, competency assessment, and mandatory education for assigned staff as appropriate for the service line. Completes all assigned projects within specified timeframes, meeting all deliverables. Develops and maintains quality scorecards for service line and necessary programs.
