Role:
Overnight & Evening shifts. Overnight shifts will include a $1.50/hour shift differential. Join the Women's Shelter and Support Center as an Advocate in Rochester, MN, where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals facing domestic violence. Be part of a compassionate team dedicated to providing support and resources to those in need.
Responsibilities:
Provide emotional support and advocacy for clients in crisis situations. Assist clients in navigating legal and social services systems. Facilitate support groups and educational workshops. Collaborate with community organizations to enhance support services. Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions. Promote awareness of domestic violence issues within the community. Engage in outreach activities to connect with potential clients. Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
Experience in crisis intervention or advocacy work is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and insurance High School diploma/GED or equivalent training and life experiences Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds Familiarity with community resources and support services. Compassionate demeanor and a commitment to client confidentiality. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Knowledge of domestic violence issues and trauma-informed care.
