Job Description

Position Summary The Bilingual Community Health Worker supports the LCDA Immunizations Outreach program and the Oklahoma Immunization Action Plan in the Latino community. Essential Job Duties Participate in outreach activities to educate and motivate new mothers to have their children immunized against vaccine preventable diseases. Use grassroots marketing & social media to raise awareness about the importance of vaccines and to promote program activities. Coordinate and promote Immunization clinics in collaboration with the Oklahoma Caring Van. Review client immunization records to determine what shots are needed & provide immunization Reminders. Contacting clients by phone to advise of delinquent immunizations. Provide support for data entry, answering telephones, directing calls, mailing cards and letters, copying and faxing documents and serves as a receptionist and assist clients appropriately. Provide referrals for services to community agencies as appropriate.
Competency Statements:
Promotes immunization awareness through community outreach, education, and engagement initiatives targeting families and caregivers. Coordinates immunization services and follow-up efforts to improve vaccine compliance and access to preventive healthcare resources. Maintains accurate client records, monitors immunization status, and provides timely reminders and follow-up communications. Delivers professional administrative and client support services, including referrals, reception duties, and coordination with community partners. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with business needs
Required Minimum Job Qualifications, Experience, Education and Training Education:
Associate degree in social service-related discipline or other relevant education
Experience:
Experience working in a health setting and/or knowledge of health & vaccinations
Skills:
Bilingual English/Spanish required Excellent communication, organization and time management skills Marketing and Social Media experience Self-started, able to work independently with minimal supervision Detail-oriented, Solid word processing and data entry skills Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be able to accomplish all duties with little to no assistance.
