Job Description

We are seeking a Cytogeneticist Technologist/Scientis t to join IQVIA's laboratory business at Valencia, CA . In this role, you will perform routine and non-routine tissue processing, including paraffin embedding, sectioning, and advanced staining techniques, while leading troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives to support pathological analysis. What you'll be doing: Perform tissue processing, paraffin embedding, sectioning, and slide preparation for microscopic evaluation. Conduct FISH and IHC technical processing and staining procedures to support pathological assessment. Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment; lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for process optimization. Mentor and train junior staff, providing technical expertise on specialized techniques. Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and regulatory standards; maintain accurate documentation per SOPs and good documentation practices. Lead continuous process improvement initiatives, including cost-saving measures and workflow optimization. Oversee technology transfer of methods and SOPs from other groups; produce technical documentation for assays and pipelines. Present findings internally and externally; serve as a general supervisor per CAP definition.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline required. Advanced experience in histology techniques including paraffin embedding, sectioning, FISH, and IHC. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP) and laboratory operations. Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this rol e: Expertise in histology processes and troubleshooting with advanced problem-solving skills. Ability to lead projects, mentor staff, and drive process improvements. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

Pay:
$87,000.00 - $97,000.00 per year
