Job Description

Cytogenetic Technologist (CG) — Full-Time Opportunity In North Carolina near Unionville We're looking for a skilled Cytogenetic Technologist to join a laboratory team performing high-impact diagnostic work from start to finish. In this role, you'll manage the complete cytogenetics workflow — culturing blood, bone marrow, and biopsy specimens; harvesting; slide preparation and staining (Giemsa, Q-, R-, C-banding, NOR); and detailed microscopic analysis including karyotyping and FISH. You'll make real-time decisions about cell quality, culture feeding, and subculturing, and operate automated karyotyping equipment. Beyond the bench, you'll play an active role in lab operations — maintaining QC on incubators, CO2 supply, and liquid nitrogen levels, managing inventory, and helping orient new staff. Participation in validation studies for new test development is part of the role as well. This is a great fit for a CG who takes pride in specimen integrity, stays current with the field, and wants to be a valued contributor in a collaborative lab environment.
