Job Description

Job Title:
Cytotechnologist (I or II)
Shift:
Day Shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Salary Range:
$60,367 - $90,551 (Based on experience) Position Overview Join a dedicated Cytopathology team in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a pivotal role in the early detection and diagnosis of disease. Working under the guidance of licensed supervisors and the Medical Director, you will process and analyze cytological specimens to provide clinicians with the vital data needed to monitor patient health and treatment progress.
Key Responsibilities Specimen Analysis:
Accurately prepare, process, and test cytological specimens to aid in medical diagnosis.
Diagnostic Precision:
Meet and maintain diagnostic performance guidelines as established by the Medical Director.
Technical Documentation:
Thoroughly and legibly document all test results, quality control data, and patient demographics within the laboratory information system.
Quality & Maintenance:
Perform routine instrument maintenance and adhere to strict quality control procedures to ensure laboratory integrity.
Team Collaboration:
Engage in interactive dialogue with the clinical team, taking direction effectively to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
Mentorship:
Provide training and guidance to new staff, students, and pathology residents/fellows as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications Licensure:
Must be a New York State Licensed (NYSED) Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Cytotechnologist.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited School of Cytotechnology or equivalent education required for NYS licensure.
Judgment:
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and take responsibility for preparatory techniques.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in laboratory computer systems and high-level attention to detail in specimen processing.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, follow complex directions, and train others.
Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay:
Hourly rates ranging from $26.37 to $42.19 , commensurate with experience level (Level I or II).
